Think of it this way – you are buying an portable electronic book reader, and you need to illegally download books to fill that portable electronic book reader.
Wait, I don’t get it . You get the Nook but you still have to pay for the downloadable books? What’s the point when you can just get the book itself without having to pay an extra $300?
no, i know iphone and itouch, iphone will lasts two days for reading i think, and there will be eye fatigue after a period of time because of the lcd’s glare, it costs three times more for an e-reader. So it’s not it.
B&N is becoming the Apple of the eReader world. Without the higher cost of hardware.
Now, they just need to lower the prices of some of the eBooks themselves! (E.g. the Dexter books, on which the Showtime show Dexter is based, are a couple dollars more expensive than they are on Amazon Kindle…get competitive B&N!).
is the experience the same as reading a regular book? does it feel cramped? I wish the get rid of the bottom screen and just maximize the reading space.
this is a nice device really. the size of this makes me bring a small bag with me instead of just placing it in my pocket.
i would suggest them to make a smaller version as a second option. Somehing like pocketable, with 4 inch touch screen e-ink display and 9mm thin and will last for 7 days with 1 gb memory and they’ll sell it for a cheaper $200 flat.
i know sometime is ok to steal an idea and create something more advance and efficient
i was going to buy the kindle two days ago but now i would switch to nook

What’s the point of getting an iPod when you can just get the CD’s themselves without having to pay an extra $150?

No, ur dumb, because I download them illegally every day. I have a shitload of books. You just have to know where to go.
Trashface.

There were eReaders before the Kindle AND the Nook, there are STILL other eReaders, and there will always BE other readers.
Who’s really copying whom? This is a pointless argument.
Let’s just enjoy the competitive differences!
This is capitalism at its best!

Geez, this thing looks slick!

Agreed, but what might they call it? MacBook is already taken, ha.

They weren’t trying to be original. They’re just refining the idea of an electronic reading device into their own product. Sony has one too.
December 1st, 2009 at 9:44 am
this looks good but they totally stole the idea from the kindle

You’re paying for the intellectual property and less the tree and ink.
