They weren’t trying to be original. They’re just refining the idea of an electronic reading device into their own product. Sony has one too.

this is a nice device really. the size of this makes me bring a small bag with me instead of just placing it in my pocket.

i would suggest them to make a smaller version as a second option. Somehing like pocketable, with 4 inch touch screen e-ink display and 9mm thin and will last for 7 days with 1 gb memory and they’ll sell it for a cheaper $200 flat.

is the experience the same as reading a regular book? does it feel cramped? I wish the get rid of the bottom screen and just maximize the reading space.
