I waited to buy something to use for propping up my iPad until I found what I thought I wanted or needed. The Prop it Up is a brilliant design. It is as it appears in the images, video clips, and as described by the seller. It has proved invaluable for use with the iPad on your lap when sitting in a chair or on a sofa, or when lying in bed in any number of positions – including placing the Prop it Up on your stomach when lying back. The multiple levels offer enough viewing and even typing angles to satisfy your iPad needs in almost any position. The iPad stays in place whether using it in the vertical or horizontal position. And the pocket that allows you to slide the iPad inside for storage is the new home for my iPad whenever it’s not in use. And just to make it especially awesome, there is a handle to make its portability that much better. It’s lightweight and very comfortable to use. I could go on and on.
The bottom line is that the Prop it Up is a very cool product. And the seller is a pleasure to deal with, too. Buy the Prop it Up. I cannot imagine anyone who thinks they might want it not loving it once they have it.

Because of some vision issues, I can’t read or see close details unless the angle is just right. I could never get the angle of my iPad correct using a pillow, so I went online and Googled until I found the Prop It Up by Padded Spaces and ordered one. The feature that makes this different from any other “pillow” device I found was that it allows the user to adjust the angle of the iPad (or eReader or netbook or real book, etc. ) to 10 different positions. And it has a built-in storage compartment for the device. I’m very happy with it.

I bought the Prop it up for both my iPad and my HP Tm2 tablet laptop. The Prop it up works really well for getting my tablet into a slanted position that’s actually high enough to get rid of the bad viewing angles of the TM2. I’ve been looking for a stand that could do this for some time and this fits the bill.
The stand is very well made. Like another review said, it looks handmade but it also looks very professionally made. The surface is made of a hard plastic that I found a bit to slippery. I spoke with the owner and he mentioned there were felt circles in the box to take care of this. I needed to little more modifying for my laptop to keep it steady, but other wise, for the iPad (with the felt in place) its perfect. I used the non slip carpet padding to keep my laptop from slipping off. If I was laying on the sofa and I leaned a little to much, my laptop would slide right off. That was the only mode I did to accomodate my laptop. Again for the iPad, whats included is all you need.
My laptop weighs close to five pounds and I found the prop it up could support its weight just find. There are real metal rollers that the really durable plastic fits between. As you prop it up you just move it to the next roller. I felt good about the rollers being metal and the plastic is very strong and supports my laptop and ipad with ease.
The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because of the materials. The Prop it up is made of thick foam and covered with a black vinyl. While that in itself isn’t my issue, its that while its on my lap it really starts to get warm. Maybe in future versions a more breathable fabric could be used. As it is now, I bought a cheap plastic cutting board to slide between it and my lap. Yes, my lap was getting that warm. In the winter that could be a nice bonus, but in summer, its a tad warm at times.
The padding again is very thick, that means this is very protective for your iPad. It has a nice handle and that makes it quite portable for car trips providing you aren’t the one driving.
As for my laptop, I find it very comfortable to type on now. I have all these great adjustments and every angle I could want. I can prop my laptop up in tablet mode and draw or paint and its great. Just what I had been looking for.
So yes, its a little pricey, but if you need this for a tablet pc or an iPad, I think its worth the money.

This feels like a hand made product, not mass produced. If it was mass produced, they could bring the price down and raise the quality a little, but aside from that, WOW! This thing is amazing. Absolutly perfect for bed, laying on your side in bed watching a movie, resting it on your stomach, etc. Then when you start falling asleep at night, you can slip the iPad in the pocket and toss it on the floor by your bed. There is enough padding so that if you forgot it was on the floor and stepped on it in the morning getting out of bed, it wouldn’t harm your device. Even though its expensive, its still worth it since there is no perfect alternative.

Hi. I have 2 of these. I use one for my lap top. In addition to the ability to use it at any angle for the iPad, the storage is the best. The iPad is an odd size. This has a pocket in it for storage and all the padding is perfect, I know it isn’t going to break no matter what. I think it’s a great product. It’s well thought out and I am happy to support a small business making useful products.
