Work Your Home Business Along With Your Children’s Schedules

For a lot of people finding time to work their home based business is hard thing to do. However, for men and women who have young children in the house, finding time for your business can be even harder, but it doesn’t need to be impossible. Work your business in the â??nooks and cranniesâ? of your life. It is amazing how much you can accomplish this way. Here are a five good ways to find the time. 1) Naptime Even if your kids donâ??t nap for long, it will still give you some child-free time to make calls, market online, answer emails and the like. Sometimes all you need is 15 or 20 minutes to get a good amount of work done. If you have any prospects to call back, this is an excellent time to do that because talking on the phone is usually easier while the kids are not around you. If you get things ready to go while the kids are awake, when they go to sleep, you can get right to work and get the most out of your time. That means listing the names and numbers of the people you need to call back, or just getting things organized in general. 2) Mommy/Daddy Day Sending your children to have a special day with just mommy or daddy can be a great way to give the other parent time alone to work on their business. Everyone wins in this situation! Parents LOVE to spend a day with their kids at the park, going to see a movie or hanging out at an amusement park, the kids LOVE it too, and the other parent has time to work without distraction. Schedule these special trips every couple of weeks and you will have an entire uninterrupted day of workâ?¦ and that can go REALLY far when youâ??re trying to build a business! Even if you and the other parent are not together, you might have set days when you know your children will be scheduled to visit. USE THAT TIME. 3) DVDâ??s are Your FRIEND Now Iâ??m not saying to let the T. V. parent your kids. However, thereâ??s nothing wrong with allowing your kids to pick out a fun movie, pop some popcorn and sit them in front of the T. V. from time to time. Let me say it again, when you are trying to build a businessâ?¦ DVDâ??s are your FRIEND! Use them! Depending on the age and the attention span of your child, you can have from 30 minutes to an hour and a half of pure uninterrupted work time and that will go a long way. 4) Crafts Kids LOVE to do arts and crafts. Even children who tend to be a little hyper will usually settle down to make something, especially when they get to use their hands and be creative. Keep in mind that if you have your kids working in one room that might not be the best time to start making calls, because there will probably be some supervising that needs to take place. However, this is a good time to organize things or perhaps do different kinds of online marketing that you can stop and start at your leisure. 5) Early Bedtimes and Strategic Calling Depending on what time your kids go to bed and what time zone you live in, bedtime can be a good time to catch up on calls and just get things done in general. If you live in the Eastern time zone and the children go to bed at 8:00 pm, thatâ??s only 5:00 pm Pacific or 6:00 pm Mountain or 7:00 pm Centralâ?¦ thatâ??s prime calling time for any zone! Start with the latest and do first and work West. Remember when youâ??re making phone calls, you are not limited to your time zone. If it is too late to make calls in one time zone, you might not be able to call people who live in another. Of course this rule does go both ways. You will need to be aware of what time it is in other time zones and make sure youâ??re not calling people where it is 3 hours later! (If it is too late, do other things and make your calls during their nap time the next day. ) Organize yourself well throughout the day and you should have everything ready when the kids go to bed. You will at least have a couple good hours of work time. I hope that these tips have been helpful in allowing you to find time to work your home based business as much as possible, while still being the BEST mom or dad. Your kids are one of the main reasons you are working your business anyway. The more time you spend in the early stages of your business building your income, the more time you will have free to spend with them for years to come!
